Kids Phone: My toddler's first clear word was 'kata'

My daughter is two and a half and lives in that stage where everything is "dis?" and pointing. We're raising her with English and Georgian at home, and honestly I'd started to worry she was hearing too many words to ever land on one.

A cousin showed us this little picture game - you tap an animal and it says the name out loud, and there's a button to hear it in English or Georgian. My daughter parked herself on the couch and tapped the cat maybe forty times, giggling every time it said "cat… კატა."

The next morning she pointed at our actual cat and said "kata!" - clear as day, the first real word she's ever repeated on her own. Then she spent the whole week "finding" animals for us: we'd say "find the dog" and she'd sprint to the screen and smack the right one.

It won't replace books or, you know, an actual childhood. But watching her connect a sound to a picture to the real thing in front of her - that clicked something. She now demands "the phone game" before every nap.
